You have to remove it to get in reverse. It doesn’t fit past the steering wheel. It’s bolted on... Keeps a hex in the cup holder.

A little cringe-worthy when some of the commenters were making jokes about the fact that the OP on the oil interval post was a woman.

Hey my sister does her wrenching with nails like that. I don’t know how she manages it, but she does.
![]() 03/25/2018 at 14:31 |

Alright let’s start from the top:
There’s already oil on the gasket surface for the oil filter. Why techs are still convinced this is the reason filters have to be destroyed in order to get them off is probably denial: they all overtighten the living shit out of them. It’s a 1/4 after the gasket has made contact, THAT’S IT!!!!
The sword: seriously?!?!? I don’t get why someone would do that to themselves. But I’ve seen that one before, but I was able to get it into reverse.
Better a cheap trash can that a wheel and or tire. I’ve almost popped a tire once or twice.
Prius: I don’t get how people are that oblivious. I get that a diesel pump can fit into a gas car, but it’s a different color, and the button actually says DIESEL on it. And on that note, people with TDI’s that put gas into them: just give up on life. The gas pump doesn’t even effing fit into a diesel hole!!!
How’s that beard working out for you dumbass?

Gloves?
Unless you’re wondering how she doesn’t break them.
![]() 03/25/2018 at 14:42 |

Yeah breakage is what I’d be afraid of. All it would take is a slip of a wrench...
![]() 03/25/2018 at 15:37 |

The Prius one could be because of fucking BP. Everywhere else in the US, Gas is black, Diesel is green. BP: “Nah, let’s reverse it.”

Just wanted to thank you for posting this. Every Sunday I crack up laughing and end up teaching something about cars to my lady. She’s got zero natural interest in cars but human stupidity sets her off so it’s a Sunday ritual now.

I’ve never been to a BP station, so I wouldn’t know.
And are you talking about BP branded stations, or just stations that sell BP?
![]() 03/25/2018 at 16:50 |

I actually kind of like the sword shifter. However the owner is kind of a DB for not taking it off and putting the OEM knob back on before dropping it off at the shop. I’d charge him an extra half hour for R&R shift knob.
![]() 03/25/2018 at 17:00 |

BP branded.
![]() 03/25/2018 at 17:11 |

I’ve never seen one of those.
I’ll bet they do that because I think that’s how it is in Europe.
![]() 03/25/2018 at 17:52 |
|
Yeah I dig the concept too, but having to remove it for reverse is a deal-breaker.
![]() 03/25/2018 at 19:21 |
|
And that’s probably because diesel nozzles are black and petrol are green, red or yellow (depending on octane rating) in the rest of BPs territory... Europe, Australia etc.
![]() 03/25/2018 at 19:47 |
|
That’s fair, but Shell changed the color of their nozzles.

That trailer hitch is TERRIFYING!
![]() 03/25/2018 at 22:07 |
|
Seriously! I must be desensitized from all the brake and tire posts, because that hitch is one of the more uniquely scary things I’ve seen on JRitS in a while.
![]() 03/25/2018 at 22:10 |
|
Yeah, seeing rotors like that is scary, but almost common on JRitS.
I just hope that trailer hitch was being used for something like a bike rack, and not an actual trailer.

that beard. ouch!
that valve has certainly seen better days
